Assalamualaikum,

Been learning about Hadith every sunday morning, so I've decided to share on what I've learn.

If you want to know how to see if the Hadith is Sahih (strong), one way is you can look up the chain of narrators(sanad).

Sanad ialah susur galur para perawi (The person who memories it) yang membawa matan hadis.

The chain of narattors are like, for example - Diriwayatkan oleh "someone", from "someone", so on until, "someone from Tabi' Tabiin", "someone from Tabi'in", "Sahabat Rasulullah" then Rasulullah bersabda or an action of Rasulullah.

Sahabat (companion of the prophet) = seorang yang hidup dalam zaman Rasulullah, berjumpa dengan Rasulullah, dan beriman pada masa hidup dan meninggal dunia dalam keadaan beriman. So if the person, who claims to listen or seen an action of Rasulullah, but is not trustworthy or has a history of having bad traits like lying, stealing, etc then it is rejected. Ini kerana dia tidak adil.

Tabi'in (Followers) = orang yang bertemu sahabat Rasulullah dalam keadaan beriman semasa hayatnya dan setelah ia meninggal dunia.

Tabi' Tabi'in = the generation after the Tabi'in in Islam.

There are some hadith that are accepted even without the sahabat's name mention in the sanad. Those cases are only when the Tabi'in are honest and is also well-known and the hadith is accepted as sahih.

Hmm, well the three generation after Rasulullah which is Sahabat, Tabi'in and Tabi' Tabi'in are told by the prophet to be the best generation Islam has to offer. MasyaAllah. Though the prophet said that he'd missed those who followed him, in iman that he will not be able to see prior to his death, those who follow his sunah.

Hanya agama Islam sahaja yang ada sanad untuk hadisnya yang benar, tidak pada agama lain (termasuk agama kristian) yang dapat buktikan kebenaran terhadap sesuatu yang dikatakan oleh ketua agama itu selain Islam.

Hukum Hadith Sahih = wajib.

Yosh!, thats abit on how to look for good and the correct hadiths. You can googled if you want better example. My notes are too long and I don't have much time left to type everything done so I gave it short.
